LINE CHEF-34 RUSH & FORTUNE'S ITALIAN STEAKHOUSE- FULL TIME

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Under the direction of the Head Chef, the Line Chef is responsible for the assistance in all aspects needed in the preparation of the daily kitchen activities. The Line Chef will take a positive and professional approach with co-workers, meet the Head Chef’s expectations regarding food preparation and completion of daily tasks, use proper knife skills, and maintain production logs and cleanliness of work areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist in the preparation and cooking of the daily menu.

2. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment to ensure it is used properly and safely.

3. Clean and organize workstations, tools, and equipment.

4. Organize all prep items for the daily menu.

5. Assist in the breakdown of the workstation and complete closing duties according to department standards.

6. Restock items depleted during the shift while maintaining the rule of “first in/first out” for all food items.

7. Perform daily temperature checks and daily dating and labeling of food products to ensure proper rotation of food.

8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB TITLE: LINE CHEF (continued)

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND TRAINING

Ability to work quickly and efficiently as part of a team. Knowledge of restaurant functions and duties that are required. Knowledge of all phases of sanitation and health standards and codes, food handling techniques, preparation, cooking procedures, and knife skills. Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.

ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or GED, plus two (2) years of experience in a similar position in the food service industry, or an equivalent combination of the foregoing experience and training sufficient to indicate the ability to effectively perform the required duties of the position.

ServSafe certification preferred.

Must be approved for and maintain a valid Video Lottery Gaming Service Employee license issued by the New York State Gaming Commission.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is an active role with prolonged periods standing and working in a kitchen. Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold is present in the kitchen environment. This position includes tasks that may require the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds at a time and bend, crawl, and climb stairs as necessary. This position requires manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks. Effective communication is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be available to work nights, weekends, and on holidays.

Pay: $36,050.00 - $63,860.00 per year
