Director of Operations – Multi-Site Operations & Safety at Next Generation, Inc.
Next Generation, Inc. is seeking a Director of Operations to provide hands-on operational leadership across our terminal locations. This position will be responsible for improving safety performance, creating consistency between locations, maintaining employee accountability, and turning company goals into measurable operational results.
This is an office and field-based leadership position. The Director of Operations will work directly with terminal employees and managers, customers, suppliers, and company leadership. The right candidate does not need to come from one specific industry, but must have a strong management background, sound judgment, and the ability to lead people while maintaining high standards.

- Identify safety deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Review existing safety practices and recommend improvements.
- Assist with customer, insurance, and regulatory safety audits.
- Promote a culture in which employees and managers understand that safety is an operational responsibility, not simply a compliance requirement.
- Ensure safety expectations are applied consistently at every location.
Operational Leadership
- Translate company goals and objectives into clear, actionable operational plans.
- Establish priorities and follow through to ensure initiatives are implemented at the terminal level.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and operational standards are applied uniformly across locations.
- Identify operational problems and work with employees and managers to develop practical solutions.
- Assist with warehouse and office operations when necessary.
- Coordinate operational needs between company leadership and individual terminal locations.

- Maintain employee accountability for safety, performance, attendance, procedures, and company standards.
- Follow up on commitments and ensure assigned responsibilities are completed.
- Coach managers and employees when performance does not meet expectations.

- Work with terminal employees to ensure procedures are practical, understood, and consistently followed.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, communication, and customer service.
- Help standardize best practices across all company locations.
Customers & Suppliers
- Ensure customer goals, expectations, and service requirements are consistently met.
- Build strong working relationships with customers and understand their operational needs.
- Work directly with customers to identify growth opportunities and additional services Next Generation can provide.

- Schedule and coordinate suppliers and outside service providers as needed.
Inventory & Auditing
- Assist with physical inventory audits and inventory-control procedures.
- Help investigate inventory discrepancies and improve processes that affect inventory accuracy.
- Ensure appropriate operational documentation and records are maintained.

- Demonstrated experience managing employees, operations, and/or multiple areas of responsibility.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety.
- The ability to hold employees and managers accountable while maintaining productive working relationships.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:
- Sets clear expectations.
- Follows through.
- Holds people accountable.
- Treats safety as a top priority.
- Creates consistency between locations.
- Communicates clearly and professionally.
