Senatobia Healthcare and Rehab is a 106 bed skilled nursing facility in Northern Mississippi. This center has been owned and operated since 1978 by the same founding family members. The facility offers short term rehabilitation services including physical, speech and occupational therapy, as well as long term skilled care for those that might need that service. This is accomplished in a comfortable, homelike environment where our residents, families and staff are able to experience a family type atmosphere.

This is a very unique opportunity to thrive in an independent, single facility long term care center. No multi-facility chains, no regional teams, no corporate politics. We are seeking skilled & experienced top quality candidates who desire to operate at a higher level. This is perfect for a tenured nurse consultant who wants to take a step back from the corporate grind and travel!

Job Overview
The Director of Nursing (DON) plays a pivotal role in overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This leadership position requires a dedicated professional with extensive experience in long term care. The DON will be responsible for developing nursing policies, managing medical records, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is essential for maintaining the standards of care and enhancing the overall patient experience.

Duties

Lead and manage nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care delivery in a 106 bed skilled nursing facility.
Oversee the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.
Ensure excellent clinical care delivery to our residents and patients.
Conduct regular reviews of medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans.
Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Provide guidance on documentation review to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional development.
Ensure that all nursing practices align with best practices in the skilled nursing facility industry.
Participate in QAPI.
Participate in surveys.

Skills

Strong leadership ability to effectively manage nursing teams.
Extensive, in-depth knowledge of long term care practices and regulations.
Proficiency in documentation review processes and skilled charting.
Excellent communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Ability to assess patient needs and develop appropriate care strategies.
Commitment to continuous improvement in nursing practices and patient outcomes.

Must have 5 years long term care experience. Regional experience is a plus.

Pay starting is 6 figures and commensurate with experience.

Must be available on off hours and weekends at times as facility needs.

We're looking for a strong DON who understands people and has a traditional "care first" mindset. Please do not apply if you have not operated in the nursing home / long term care environment or have no survey experience.
