Dual Enrollment Navigator

Expanding College Access, Empowering Student Success, and Supporting Institutional Excellence

The Dual Enrollment Navigator is a student-centered advising and support position that applies BRCC's personalized support model principles to dual enrollment students. Reporting to the Director of Academic Program Initiatives, the Dual Enrollment Navigator serves as the primary liaison between Baton Rouge Community College and assigned K-12 partner schools while providing concierge-style support to students and

families from initial exploration through successful transition into postsecondary education. At BRCC, student progression starts before registration. The Navigator will help schools build annual dual enrollment schedules, identify pathway cohorts, and ensure students are taking the right courses in the right sequence to support degree

completion, Fast Forward pathways, industry-based credentials, and transfer goals.

The Dual Enrollment Navigator supports students according to personalized support principles by developing meaningful relationships with students, understanding their educational and career goals, providing proactive and intrusive advising, maintaining individualized student success plans, conducting regular outreach and follow-up, facilitating intentional referrals, and monitoring student progress throughout their dual enrollment experience.

The position serves as both a school partnership representative and student success professional, helping students identify educational pathways that align with their interests, strengths, career aspirations, workforce opportunities, and long-term academic goals.

Key Responsibilities

40% Student Navigation and Success Planning

Assist students in identifying academic and workforce pathways that align with their interests, strengths, career goals, and postsecondary aspirations.
Develop and maintain individualized student success plans for assigned dual enrollment students.
Provide proactive and intrusive advising to support student persistence, progression, and successful completion of dual enrollment coursework.
Guide students through admissions, enrollment, registration, pathway selection, and transition planning processes.
Communicate with students and families at regular points throughout the student lifecycle to monitor progress and address barriers to success.
Coach students on educational planning, workforce opportunities, industry-based credentials, transfer pathways, and degree completion strategies.
Maintain detailed advising notes and student records within institutional systems.
Collaborate with high school counselors, graduation coaches, and school administrators to ensure students remain on track toward high school graduation requirements, industry-based credentials, associate degree pathways, technical diplomas, certificates, and transfer goals.

30% Student Outreach, Monitoring, and Intervention

Analyze student data to identify indicators requiring proactive outreach and intervention.
Monitor student enrollment, attendance, academic performance, persistence, and completion outcomes.
Engage students through multiple communication methods including individual meetings, phone calls, virtual advising, classroom visits, school-based outreach, and enrollment events.
Implement interventions and success strategies designed to support student achievement and retention.
Make intentional referrals to academic support services, financial aid, advising, accessibility services, career services, workforce programs, and other institutional resources.

25% School Partnership and Program Support

Serve as the primary BRCC liaison for assigned partner schools and districts.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with principals, counselors, graduation coaches, instructors, district administrators, students, and families.
Meet regularly with school counselors and academic leadership teams to review student progression, enrollment trends, pathway participation, and completion outcomes.
Assist schools in the development of annual dual enrollment course requests and academic plans that align with student demand, credential pathways, degree requirements, transfer opportunities, workforce priorities, and instructor availability.
Support schools in building course schedules and pathway maps that promote efficient student progression and maximize credential attainment opportunities.
Coordinate dual enrollment admissions, scheduling, registration, onboarding, and communication activities between partner schools and BRCC.
Assist with instructor onboarding and credentialing processes.
Monitor pathway enrollment, course sequencing, student progression, and completion data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Support compliance with Board of Regents, LCTCS, accreditation, and institutional requirements.
Collect and maintain data related to enrollment, persistence, completion, credential attainment, transfer outcomes, and program effectiveness.
Participate in outreach activities that promote dual enrollment, college-going culture, workforce pathways, and postsecondary access.

5% Other Duties

Minimum Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Education

Master’s degree in any field.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of Banner, learning management systems, academic program sequencing.
