Executive Chef

Joelle's Restaurant is seeking an accomplished and visionary Executive Chef to lead the culinary team of our upscale dining establishment. This leadership position is ideal for an experienced chef who is passionate about culinary excellence, innovative menu development, exceptional guest experiences, and mentoring a high-performing kitchen team. The Executive Chef will oversee all culinary operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, creativity, and professionalism.

Position Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all daily kitchen operations to ensure exceptional quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Design and execute seasonal menus featuring innovative, elegant cuisine while maintaining the restaurant's culinary vision.
Develop recipes, establish plating standards, and ensure consistency in every dish served.
Recruit, train, mentor, schedule, and supervise all back-of-house staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and excellence.
Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and compliance with all health regulations.
Manage food purchasing, vendor relationships, inventory, and kitchen budgets while controlling food and labor costs.
Monitor product quality, presentation, portion control, and guest satisfaction.
Collaborate with ownership and management on menu pricing, special events, wine dinners, private dining experiences, and promotional opportunities.
Ensure an efficient kitchen workflow while maintaining a calm, organized environment during service.
Promote creativity, continuous learning, and professional development within the culinary team.

Qualifications

At least 3-5 years of Executive Chef experience.
Extensive knowledge of classical and contemporary culinary techniques.
Demonstrated experience in menu development, recipe costing, inventory management, and food cost control.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to lead with professionalism while performing effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of budgeting, labor management, purchasing, and operational efficiency.
