Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Meat Processing Manager to oversee the meat department operations in our food processing plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meat cutting, food production, and sanitation practices. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety while ensuring efficient operations within the department.

Duties

Manage daily operations of the meat processing department, including overseeing staff and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Perform meat cutting and fabrication tasks, ensuring products meet quality standards.
Implement and maintain HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) protocols to ensure food safety.
Train and supervise team members on proper meat handling, sanitation practices, and equipment usage.
Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working condition; perform basic mechanical troubleshooting as needed.
Oversee inventory management, including assisting with ordering supplies and managing stock levels.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with OSHA regulations.

Experience

Proven experience in meat cutting and food processing within a production environment is a must.
Familiarity with HACCP principles and OSHA safety standards is required.
Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance is preferred.
Strong understanding of sanitation practices in a food production setting.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating leadership skills.
