Senior Tax Associate – Real Estate

Start Date: Q4 2026 or January 2027
Locations: Raleigh, Durham, Wilmington, or Greenville, NC
Work Model: Hybrid (minimum 3 days onsite per week)

TJT is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join our growing Real Estate Tax team. This is more than a compliance role—it's an opportunity to become a trusted advisor to dynamic real estate developers and investors shaping communities across the Southeast.

In this role, you'll work closely with firm leadership and clients in the land development and multi-family housing space, helping them navigate complex tax landscapes and make strategic decisions that drive growth. You'll have a direct impact on client success while continuing to build deep technical expertise in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

If you enjoy digging into complex real estate transactions, advising clients in real time, and being part of a team that's actively growing, this is a strong next step.

What You'll Be Doing

Prepare partnership and property level tax returns with targeted allocations and waterfall provisions for real estate entities

Work directly with clients on tax planning, structuring, and strategy

Analyze complex financials tied to development projects and investments

Build long-term client relationships as a trusted advisor—not just a preparer

Collaborate closely with firm leadership on high-impact engagements

What You Bring

3+ years of public accounting experience, with real estate exposure

Strong understanding of partnership taxation and financial statements

Experience with CCH Axcess Tax and Engagement (or similar platforms)

Ability to communicate clearly with clients and internal teams

CPA license or active pursuit of licensure
