Our entity Cal Pacific Constructors, Inc. (CPCI) is looking for Pole Treatment Technicians to support wood-pole inspection and treatment crews on the Southern California Edison system. CPCI was recently awarded the Southern California Edison Intrusive Pole Inspection (IPI) Program. We are building a crew from the ground up to support GO 165 compliance work across SCE's 50,000-square-mile service territory. About the Role
Entry-level field position on a wood pole inspection and treatment crew working under Southern California Edison's Intrusive Pole Inspection Program. Working under the direct supervision of a Foreman, you will perform groundline excavation, internal treatment application, and the physical work that supports the inspection process.
What you'll do:
- Assist the crew foreman with digging, backfilling, and applying pole preservatives
- Use a variety of hand tools in the field
- Support accurate pole inspection and treatment work
What you need:
- Strong work ethic and reliability; willing to learn
- Able to perform physical outdoor labor in all terrain and weather
- Valid California driver's license
- Willingness to travel within SCE's service territory and to join IBEW Local #47 within 7 days of hire
Physical Demands - A qualified individual must be able to perform these essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Sitting and/or standing/walking for long periods on uneven ground
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Twisting, reaching overhead, pulling, pushing
- Ability to work at heights (e.g., on ladders, scaffolding) and in confined spaces (such as trenches or manholes) as required by the project
- Use hands to handle tools and heavy equipment, and reach with arms.

Work Environment
- This role is outdoors on active construction sites. The employee could be exposed to weather conditions such as heat, cold, and rain, and will work near heavy machinery and moving vehicles
- The noise level on site is often loud, and the environment may involve dust and fumes. Appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety vest, hearing protection, etc.) is required at all times.
- Work may occasionally be at heights or in confined spaces
- The employee is required to follow all safety policies and procedures and to actively participate in safety trainings and meetings. This position is classified as safety-sensitive
- Must be willing to work overtime or weekends when project deadlines require
Compensation & Benefits
- Base wage $22.29/hr
- Employer-paid lodging (or $45/day allowance) on assignments 60+ road miles from home
- Paid holidays and PTO.
Schedule: Standard schedule is 5×8 (Mon–Fri) or 4×10 (Mon–Thu) by mutual agreement. Overtime at 1.5× over 40 hrs/week.
