Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Shop Helper to join our dynamic production team. In this role, you will support various manufacturing processes by assisting with machine operation, material handling, and quality inspection. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth workflow, adherence to safety standards, and high-quality output. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in metal fabrication, machining, and assembly within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment such as CNC machines, press brakes and welding tools.
Support the handling and movement of sheet metal and other materials using forklifts and cranes while adhering to safety protocols.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of parts.
Measure finished components using precision measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to verify quality standards.
Perform basic shop math calculations for measurements, tolerances, and material estimations to support machining and fabrication tasks.
Assist in fabricating parts through forming machines, sheet metal processes, or welding operations under supervision.
Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety standards in production environments.

Requirements

Prior experience or training in machine operation including CNC laser cutting, CNC programming or press brake operation is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided.
Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments including proper use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and personal protective equipment.
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
Basic math skills necessary for measurement and fabrication calculations.
Ability to operate forklifts or cranes safely; certification is a plus but not required—training will be provided if needed.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality inspection and measurement accuracy.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
