Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Set Up Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex blueprints and specifications. The CNC Set Up Operator will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently while maintaining quality standards across production processes.

Responsibilities

Set up and calibrate CNC milling machines, lathes, press brakes, stamping presses, and other machining equipment using CAD, CAM programming, and GD&T specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing instructions to determine tooling and machine settings.
Program CNC machines utilizing Fanuc controls, CNC programming, and CAM software to produce precise parts.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on CNC equipment to ensure optimal operation.
Handle materials and tooling safely using forklifts, hand tools, and material handling equipment within the manufacturing facility.
Conduct quality control checks using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Document setup procedures, machine parameters, and production data accurately for process consistency.
Collaborate with assembly line teams to ensure seamless production flow and adherence to safety standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety regulations.

Skills

Proficiency in CNC programming with experience on Fanuc controls.
Strong knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks preferred), CAM programming, GD&T principles, and blueprint reading.
Mechanical aptitude with experience operating machining tools such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brakes, stamping presses, welding equipment, and fabrication tools.
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and tooling setup for various manufacturing processes.
Ability to operate forklifts safely; warehouse or materials handling experience is a plus.
Experience with quality control tools including calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
Knowledge of manufacturing environments including factory experience or fabrication facilities is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
