Position: Clinical Professional Development Specialist/Educator, Emergency Department

Centra Emergency Departments (EDs) are here to help when you or someone you care about needs medical attention. We provide fast, life-saving care for serious conditions like trauma, heart attacks, strokes, and other emergencies. At Lynchburg General Hospital ED, a 53-bed level II trauma center, we are committed to providing a higher level of care for multiple injured patients. We are staffed by highly trained physicians and nurses who possess advanced certifications in trauma and critical care.

Job Description:

The RN Clinical Professional Development Practitioner is a registered nurse who influences professional role competence and professional growth of learners in a variety of settings within our Emergency Services Division. The RN Clinical Professional Development Practitioner supports lifelong learners in an inter-professional environment that facilitates continuous development and learning for the healthcare team. The RN Clinical Professional Development Practitioner uses tools, theories, skills, and knowledge of Professional Development to improve the practice of the healthcare team. The RN Clinical Professional Development Practitioner is responsible for promoting lifelong learning of the healthcare team through orientation/onboarding, competency management, education, professional role development, research/EBP/QI, and collaborative partnerships.

Requirements:

Required Qualification:

-Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing

-2 years of Emergency Department Nursing Experience

· Required Certifications and Licensures: Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse. Hold a current, active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) course completion card.
