Feed Store Delivery Driver

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-minded Bulk Feed Delivery Driver to support our George West, Texas location. This position is responsible for safely delivering bulk and bagged animal feed to farms, ranches, and other customer locations throughout the area.
The driver will operate both flatbed delivery trucks and bulk feed/blower trucks, depending on the delivery. Responsibilities include unloading and placing bagged feed, operating blower equipment to fill customer feeders and grain/feed bins, and providing professional service at customer locations.
When the delivery schedule slows down, this position will also assist with operations at the feed store, including operating a forklift, loading customer vehicles, moving product, and helping maintain an organized and safe work area.
Work Schedule
The normal work schedule is:
Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
Saturday: 7:00 AM–12:00 PM
The employee must be available to work the scheduled hours and complete assigned delivery routes. Actual finishing times may occasionally vary depending on delivery volume, customer locations, traffic, weather, equipment issues, and other operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate company flatbed and bulk feed/blower trucks.
- Deliver bagged feed, bulk feed, and other products to customer locations.
- Operate blower equipment and hoses to safely fill customer feed bins and feeders.
- Verify the correct feed/product is delivered to the correct customer and storage location before unloading.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload bagged feed and other materials.
- Properly secure loads and inspect loads before transportation.
- Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain vehicles and delivery equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Identify and report vehicle, blower system, hose, or other equipment problems promptly.
- Maintain required delivery paperwork, driver records, and other documentation.
- Communicate professionally with customers and store personnel regarding deliveries and delivery conditions.
- Safely maneuver trucks at farms, ranches, feed lots, and other customer locations where road, ground, overhead, or equipment conditions may vary.
- Stop work and contact supervision when a delivery location cannot be safely accessed or when conditions could result in injury, property damage, product contamination, or equipment damage.
- Operate a forklift to load and unload feed and other products when needed.
- Assist customers and other employees with loading products at the store.
- Assist with general warehouse, yard, and feed-store duties during periods when deliveries are limited.
- Maintain a clean and safe truck, warehouse, loading area, and work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, DOT requirements, traffic laws, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL or higher appropriate for the vehicles being operated.
- Must be legally qualified to operate a manual-transmission commercial motor vehicle and must not have a license restriction that prohibits operation of manual-transmission CMVs.
- Acceptable driving record in accordance with company and insurance requirements.
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles in rural areas and at customer locations with limited maneuvering space.
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate bulk feed/blower equipment.
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate a forklift.
- Ability to read delivery tickets, product information, customer instructions, and basic transportation paperwork.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Dependable attendance and ability to report to work on time.
- Ability to work independently and make sound safety decisions while away from the store.
Physical Requirements
This position involves regular physical work. The employee must be able to:
- Frequently climb into and out of commercial trucks and equipment.
- Climb steps or ladders as necessary to inspect equipment or perform delivery-related tasks.
- Handle, position, and connect bulk feed blower hoses.
- Bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and work from standing positions for extended periods.
- Safely lift and handle bags of feed and other products associated with normal feed-store operations.
- Work outdoors in Texas weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, dust, and rain.
- Work around agricultural operations, livestock, moving vehicles, forklifts, trucks, trailers, and other mobile equipment.
- Safely perform duties on uneven, gravel, dirt, muddy, or otherwise variable surfaces commonly encountered at farms and ranches.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
