Full Job Description

Position Summary

The CNC Laser Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality production, while also performing routine inspections and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

ShiftPay Differential

Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
2nd shift position.
Standard hours are TBD.
A 15% shift differential applies to all eligible hours worked on 2nd

Responsibilities

Load, set up, and operate CNC laser cutting machines to process metal materials according to technical drawings and production requirements.
Select and load appropriate cutting programs, set machine parameters, and adjust laser beam focal points for optimal results.
Perform dimensional inspections, monitor machine performance, and ensure finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
Implement changes to machine programs, and enter new specifications, using computers.
Lift workpieces to machines manually or with hoists.
Stack finished items for further processing or shipment.
Operate forklift to move materials.
Perform secondary operations as required.

High school diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of work experience.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Familiarity with CNC laser cutting equipment, including troubleshooting and basic maintenance.
Ability to use and read precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Competence in using relevant software for programming and managing laser cutting files.
High level of precision and focus to ensure quality and efficiency.
