Overview

Join our dedicated team as a School-Based Clinician and make a meaningful impact on the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive behavioral health services within school settings, fostering resilience, emotional growth, and positive development. Your expertise will help students overcome challenges, improve social skills, and succeed academically while promoting a safe and supportive environment for all. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with youth, families, educators, and community partners to deliver evidence-based care that transforms lives.

Duties

Conduct thorough clinical assessments to evaluate students’ mental health needs, including diagnostic evaluations and risk assessments.
Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, attachment-based therapy for children, and behavioral therapy.
Implement crisis management protocols to respond effectively to urgent mental health situations, including crisis intervention and PTSD care.
Collaborate with school staff, families, and community resources to develop personalized case management plans that support student success and behavioral health goals.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and adhere to clinical documentation standards using appropriate social work documentation tools.
Facilitate social work activities such as social skills training, conflict management, behavior management strategies, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
Promote culturally sensitive counseling approaches tailored to diverse student populations, ensuring inclusive support for all backgrounds.

Requirements

master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field; licensure or certification preferred.
Proven experience working with children and adolescents in school-based or clinical settings.
Strong knowledge of adolescent development, mental health counseling techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and evidence-based practices such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) and motivational interviewing.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and confidentiality standards under HIPAA regulations.
Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining high-quality documentation aligned with clinical standards.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable.
