Our innovative solutions empower utility companies and industrial clients to monitor and manage electrical systems with precision, reliability and safety.

Position Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining SensorLink’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that all electronic instrumentation products consistently meet customer and company quality requirements. This role leads quality assurance activities across manufacturing, incoming inspection, supplier quality, production testing, and corrective actions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a small manufacturing environment where collaboration across engineering, production, purchasing, and sales/customer service is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System

Maintain and improve the company's Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
Develop, update, and control quality procedures and records.
Lead internal audits and coordinate external customer and certification audits.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer requirements.

Production Quality

Oversee incoming, in-process, and final product inspections.
Monitor manufacturing quality metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Review production documentation and ensure traceability requirements are maintained.
Support calibration and maintenance of inspection and test equipment.

Supplier Quality

Evaluate and qualify suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance using quality metrics.
Resolve supplier quality issues through corrective action processes.
Collaborate with Purchasing and Engineering to improve supplier performance and reduce incoming defects.

Customer Quality

Collaborate with Sales and Service to investigate customer complaints and warranty returns.
Coordinate corrective actions with Sales, Engineering and Production.
Respond to customer quality inquiries and support customer audits.

Continuous Improvement

Analyze quality data and report trends using KPIs.
Lead initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
Promote Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
Facilitate cross-functional quality improvement projects.

Collaboration and Quality Leadership

Serve as the subject matter expert for quality systems and quality assurance activities.
Perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
Provide guidance and support to manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and customer service teams on quality-related matters.
Lead cross-functional corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.
Train employees on quality procedures, inspection methods, and best practices.
Participate in engineering design reviews and new product introduction activities to ensure quality is built into new products.
Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of quality experience in electronics manufacturing or instrumentation manufacturing.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional quality initiatives and influence process improvements without direct supervisory responsibility preferred.
Strong understanding of electronic assembly processes, PCB manufacturing, and product testing.
Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Experience with root cause analysis and CAPA methodologies.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) through ASQ.
Experience with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001).
Experience with statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, and control plans.
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
Experience with RoHS, REACH, and other electronic manufacturing compliance requirements.
