Job Summary
Quality Manager – Aluminum Manufacturing

Help Build the Quality Systems for a New Manufacturing Facility

Alu Materials America (AMA) is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the development and implementation of our Quality Management Systems (QMS) at our new aluminum manufacturing facility located in Halls, Tennessee.

AMA is part of a global manufacturing organization headquartered in Korea, bringing advanced manufacturing technology and international expertise to the United States.

This role offers a unique opportunity to build and implement world-class quality systems from the ground up during the startup phase of our aluminum extrusion manufacturing operations.

Position Overview

The Quality Manager will lead all quality assurance and quality control activities across the facility and will be responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).

This position will work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, and Executive Leadership (U.S. and Korean teams) to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with international manufacturing standards.

The role will play a critical part in establishing quality systems during plant startup and supporting long-term operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Quality Management Systems (QMS)

Develop, implement, and maintain the facility's Quality Management System
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards
Support implementation and maintenance of IATF 16949 automotive quality systems
Lead internal and external quality audits and certification processes
Establish quality procedures, documentation, and inspection standards

Automotive Quality Systems

Manage AIAG Core Tools, including:
APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis)
SPC (Statistical Process Control)
Ensure proper traceability and documentation for manufactured components

Manufacturing Quality Control

Oversee quality inspection of aluminum extrusion products and components
Implement incoming material inspections, in-process checks, and final product verification
Monitor key quality metrics, including:
Scrap rates
Defect rates
Process capability
Customer quality performance

Continuous Improvement

Lead root cause analysis and corrective action programs (CAPA)
Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma quality improvements
Analyze quality data to reduce defects and process variation

Customer & Supplier Quality

Investigate customer complaints and quality issues
Lead 8D corrective action reports
Conduct supplier quality audits and vendor quality performance reviews

Leadership & Collaboration

Build and lead the Quality Department, including inspectors and technicians.
Provide training to production staff on quality standards and inspection procedures.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance to improve manufacturing processes.s
Provide quality reporting and updates to executive leadership teams

QualificationsRequired

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or related field
5–10+ years of manufacturing quality leadership experience
Experience implementing and managing ISO 9001 quality systems
Experience with IATF 16949 automotive quality standards
Strong understanding of AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, and quality auditing
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced startup manufacturing environment

Preferred

Experience in aluminum extrusion or metal manufacturing
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
Experience supporting a new manufacturing facility startup
Experience in automotive, solar, or industrial component manufacturing
Experience working with global manufacturing organizations

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
