Job Summary
The Extrusion Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of extrusion equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures that production standards are met, materials are handled properly, and all quality and safety protocols are consistently followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and troubleshoot extrusion equipment, including the winder and edge‑trim grinder, to maintain smooth, reliable operation
- Document shift activities to ensure clear communication and operational continuity
- Safely operate machines to meet standards for waste reduction, product quality, efficiency, and utilization
- Complete all required production and downtime paperwork accurately and on time
- Identify product defects and follow the chain of command for resolution
- Follow housekeeping, 5S, food safety, and safety procedures to maintain a clean and compliant workspace
- Support changeovers, startups, and basic line operations
- Collect, label, and store retains to ensure traceability
- Perform routine visual quality checks, including twice‑per‑shift EVOH verification
- Package finished products per quality and safety standards
- Follow TRA documents, safety rules, and PPE requirements
- Perform necessary material‑handling tasks to support safe, efficient production flow
- Carry out other assigned duties supporting production needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic math, reading, writing, and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, positive, and team-oriented
- Basic computer skills

- Manufacturing and forklift experience
- Smartphone for timekeeping
- Ability to read tape measures (standard/metric)
Physical Demands
- Perform manual labor (lifting, carrying, bending, reaching)
- Stand for a 12-hour shift; use hands/fingers for object handling
- Strong hand-eye coordination; lift 50 lbs. regularly; repetitive tasks
- Clear visual acuity and dexterity needed for repetitive inspection and packing tasks

Job Title: Material Handler

Reports to: Thermoforming Supervisor/Extrusion Manager
Job Summary
The Material Handler supports production by safely operating forklifts and related equipment, maintaining adequate supplies, and ensuring finished products are properly labeled, wrapped, and stored. Also removes scrap and waste, reports damaged products, loads/unloads trailers, and adheres to all GMPs and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, compactors, and an industrial grinder
- Manage edge-trim grind and coordinate material staging and movement on the production floor
- Load and unload materials into blenders and extruder hoppers, and troubleshoot all blender and material flow issues, including Silo Track
- Maintain an adequate stock of extrusion and thermoforming packaging supplies
- Properly label, wrap, and store finished products in designated warehouse locations
- Report damaged products promptly
- Remove scrap, cardboard, and trash from the production floor
- Follow all GMPs, safety procedures, and perform additional assigned tasks
- Load and unload material trucks as required, including those delivering bulk materials and trailer loads

Job Summary
The Grinder Operator is responsible for processing production trim into reusable granulated material and supporting material-handling activities throughout the facility. This role ensures efficient recycling operations, maintains equipment functionality, and assists with inventory and labeling tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Operates grinders to reduce production trim into granulated material
- Prepares, fills, bands, labels, and wraps containers of reclaimed plastic
- Removes and labels ground material from the cyclone area and prepares it for storage
- Transports reclaimed material to storage locations using a forklift
- Maintains material traceability throughout the grinding area
- Performs light grinder maintenance as needed
- Cleans the grinder, dryer, and blender hopper during material changeovers
- Monitors supply inventory and informs the Extrusion Manager when replenishment is required
- Uses a computer to print shipping labels as needed
