Special-Lite is looking for a Paint Technician to join our team at our Benton Harbor location. As a Paint Tech, you will perform a variety of duties related to the painting of our custom doors and entryways.

Inspecting doors, frames, and accessory components for cosmetic defects

Sanding or performing cosmetic repairs as needed

Hanging doors, frames and accessory components in preparation for priming and painting

Mixing and spraying primer and paint according to shop sheet specifications on prepared doors, frames and accessory components.

Examining finished product to verify conformance to specification

Cleaning and maintaining spray equipment and work area

High school diploma or GED.

Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools.

Intermediate mechanical comprehension and abilities.

Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions in written, oral, and/or diagram form.

Lift 5070lbs with assistance.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Complete all work within our safety guidelines.

Work and train in other departments as needed.

Previous experience with spraying wet paint.

Previous experience with Bondo and Sanding.

Previous manufacturing, assembly, or construction experience.

Blueprint or template reading a plus.

Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.

Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate office equipment, and reach with hands and arms.

Frequently required to talk and hear.

Required to stand and walk.

Required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 70pounds with assistance.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
