Full Job Description

Great Opportunity for Job Captain at Established Architecture and Design Studio. Hybrid--Remote and WFH

Are you fascinated by the intricate details of complex design projects? Do you love working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously? Do you want to learn and develop your craft alongside other creatives?

If so, Studio Vara is looking for a Job Captain

- Assist team in contemporary residential, multi-family and commercial projects

- Create, edit, and manage construction drawing sets

- Full-time exempt position 9am-6pm Monday-Friday. Hybrid work model, remote and from our San Francisco studio

- Employer-paid full medical, dental & vision insurance, PTO, and 401k.

The Position:

- Work with principals and senior staff to prepare presentation materials, 2D and 3D design and construction documents, including CAD, hand drawing & model making

- Assist with project correspondence, schedule, and budget

- Assist with Planning & Building Code compliance

- Collaborate with partners on design direction

- Research and specify materials and systems with a focus on sustainability

What you’ll need:

- Degree from an NAAB Accredited school of architecture.

- Minimum 5 years of experience of high-end residential, multi-family, hospitality and/or commercial projects.

- Technical knowledge of Type V construction, including past work in all phases of design and construction.

- Superior written and verbal English communication skills, effective troubleshooting skills and the ability to take direction.

- Working knowledge and proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.

- Graphic proficiency in assembling design presentations, within Adobe, InDesign and the Creative Suite.

- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.

- Preferred: Knowledge of Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, V-Ray, 3D Max, and Enscape

- Preferred: Experience with Construction Administration tasks and multi-unit residential projects.
