Structural Steel Fitter/Fabricator
Location: Loveland, Colorado
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:45 PM | Friday overtime as needed

KDM Steelworks, Inc. is a structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication company with a strong reputation for safety, quality, and productivity. Located near the Rocky Mountains in the heart of Loveland, Colorado, we fabricate structural steel for commercial and industrial projects throughout the region.
We are currently seeking experienced, dependable, full-time Structural Steel Fitters/Fabricators to join our team.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum 3 years of structural steel fitting/fabrication experience
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings
- Experience fitting beams, columns, HSS, angles, stairs, platforms, frames, and miscellaneous steel
- Must pass a 3G Unlimited MIG welding test during the hiring process
- Must provide a basic set of hand tools
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Ability to read blueprints and accurately fit structural steel assemblies
- Ability to calculate angles, pitch, rise, and run
- Understanding of weld symbols, dimensions, tolerances, and material callouts
- Experience with:
- MIG, Stick, and TIG welding
- Band saws
- Oxy-fuel cutting
- Plasma cutting
- Shears
- Punches
- Press brakes
- Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Welding certifications are preferred but not required
Essential Job Duties
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Fit structural steel assemblies according to shop drawings
- Weld assemblies in accordance with AWS requirements and company standards
- Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications
- Maintain production goals while producing high-quality work
- Safely operate fabrication equipment and hand tools
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and fellow employees
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman or Production Manager
Physical Requirements
This position is performed primarily in a fabrication shop environment and requires:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping, and lifting
- Regular use of hands, wrists, and arms to operate tools and equipment
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to safely perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Shop-Based Position
No field installation work is required. All fabrication is performed at our Loveland, Colorado facility.
