SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with on-call responsibilities as needed. Additional schedule details will be discussed during the interview process.

JOB SUMMARY
General Description: Supervises services provided by professional staff to individuals with a developmental disability, mental illness, substance use disorder or emotional problems and those who are at risk of those problems including Home-Based services.
Responsibilities and Duties: Supervises directly or indirectly, assigned and associated staff activities and agency contracts. Ensures that agency staff are assigned work, that schedules are set and that staff are performing to expectations. Reads and evaluates case reports and revises other reports and documentation as appropriate. Interprets agency policies and procedures to staff. Assists the Program Director in maintaining and developing appropriate services and/or prevention programs for assigned community. Ensures that assigned areas are in compliance with agency directives and accrediting and regulatory requirements. Consults and provides leadership on program development with agencies, schools and/or coordinating bodies. Encourages staff to work collaboratively with community partners and other teams in the agency. Supervises the 24-hour emergency services when needed. Performs clinical assessments and reassessments when appropriate. Assures the principles of Person-Centered Planning are practiced. Participates and/or leads team meetings and agency staff meetings. Assists the Program Director with hiring and training of clinical staff. May supervise the county ACCESS worker who provides referrals clinical screening, intervention and disposition. Acts as designee for hospital stay authorizations. May act as the lead manager for county programs for Utilization Review. Responsible for overseeing portions of the program budget and authorizes purchase orders as designated. May write grants to establish or maintain CMH services.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
General Education:
College: Master's degree
Major: Social Work, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Counseling, or Psychiatric Nursing
Job Related Experience: Sufficient experience to perform the position at a satisfactory level. Experienced and knowledgeable in dealing with developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders. May require experience and knowledge of NMSAS guidelines. Managed Care background preferred.
Licenses, etc.: Licensed Master's Social Worker; Licensed or Limited Licensed Psychologist; Licensed Professional Counselor; or RN license. Valid drivers license while operating vehicle on agency business.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Knowledge: Knowledge of administrative, supervisory management, suicide prevention and crisis intervention techniques. Knowledge of various community mental health procedures, forms and services. Knowledge of various community programs and social agencies and how to access them. Knowledge of theoretical and practical bases of mental illness and substance use disorder as practiced in community mental health. Knowledge of the basic principles and techniques of psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, mental health therapies and community organization/intervention. Knowledge of legal procedures, case management and clinical support services functions.
Skills: Interpersonal skills, leadership skills, diagnostic/assessment skills and crisis intervention skills. Use of the telephone and computer skills. Oral and written communication skills. Use of an automobile.

Physical Demands: Work is generally sedentary. Some local travel is required.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical office setting and other community settings and may involve dealing with people under very trying conditions.
