Essential Functions:

Align human resources strategies with business objectives to support operational performance, workforce effectiveness, and a positive employee experience across assigned healthcare business units

Advise leaders and managers on talent management, performance management, workforce planning, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness to advance short- and long-term business goals

Partner with business leaders to design and implement HR initiatives that strengthen culture, inclusion, leadership capability, and retention in a complex healthcare environment

Analyze workforce trends, metrics, and employee insights to inform data-driven recommendations, policies, and people solutions aligned with organizational priorities

Manage complex employee relations matters, including investigations and grievance resolution, using sound judgment, empathy, and objectivity to mitigate risk and support trust

Provide day-to-day HR guidance on coaching, counseling, corrective action, and career development to promote accountability, growth, and engagement

Collaborate across Human Resources centers of excellence to deliver consistent, high-quality people services that reflect UHS values and healthcare best practices
Scope and Impact:

Influence individual, team, and organizational outcomes by translating business needs into scalable human resources strategies within assigned service lines or departments

Exercise professional judgment in advising leaders on people decisions, escalating complex or high-risk issues in accordance with established guidelines and governance

Operate with a high degree of autonomy under general direction, maintaining accountability for outcomes, quality, and stakeholder relationships

Support organizational change initiatives, restructures, and succession planning efforts to ensure continuity of care and operational stability
Compliance and Professional:

Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare regulatory requirements to reduce risk and ensure compliant people practices

Partner with Legal and other stakeholders as needed to address regulatory, policy, or employee relations matters appropriately and consistently

Complete required organizational training, education, and competency validations within established timelines

Safeguard sensitive data by following established security policies and procedures, using systems responsibly, and promptly reporting potential security incidents, risks, or policy violations

As applicable to your role, support cybersecurity and data protection requirements throughout the supplier lifecycle by coordinating vendor risk assessments, monitoring third-party compliance, and promptly reporting identified supply chain or cybersecurity risks

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree

At least 10 years of related experience in a role or field that provides transferable skills or knowledge relevant to the position

At least 5 years of project/operations leadership experience leading projects, workflows, or operational processes

HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification

SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification

At least 3 years of healthcare experience working in the healthcare industry in any job function
