Box Office Manager – Iron City

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Part-Time, Hourly
Department: Ticketing
Reports To: StageRight Ticketing Director and Iron City General Manager

Position Summary

Iron City is seeking a charismatic, organized, and versatile Box Office Manager with extensive experience using the Ticketmaster platform and a passion for live music and entertainment.

The Box Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the venue’s ticketing operations, including event builds, onsales, financial reconciliation, staff supervision, customer service, and coordination with artists, promoters, and internal departments. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, approachable, solutions-focused, and committed to delivering an exceptional experience for guests, artists, and partners.

This is a part-time, hourly position that requires availability during regular business hours and for events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential ResponsibilitiesTicketing Operations

Manage the overall operations of the Iron City box office and ticketing department.
Oversee event builds and onsales, including ticket configurations, hold allocations, pricing, financial requirements, and artist or promoter allocations.
Ensure ticketing setups are accurate, operationally effective, and designed to provide the best possible fan experience.
Serve as the primary venue contact for Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, and other ticketing platforms or services used by the venue.
Maintain and regularly update ticketing calendars, event information, onsale dates, pricing, performance times, and other box office communications.
Develop, implement, and maintain ticketing policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Respond to customer service inquiries and resolve ticketing concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Financial Reporting and Reconciliation

Complete ticketing and settlement reconciliations for each event.
Ensure ticketing activity complies with applicable financial controls, artist agreements, and venue procedures.
Prepare accurate daily and event-specific reports, including:
Ticket sales reports
Event wrap reports
Accounts receivable records
Complimentary ticket reports
Fraud investigations
Venue and box office reconciliations
Provide ticketing documentation and financial information to the accounting, operations, and settlement teams as needed.

Artist and Premium Ticketing Programs

Manage artist ticketing initiatives, including premium tickets, platinum tickets, VIP packages, presales, fan clubs, and other special ticketing programs.
Coordinate artist, promoter, sponsor, and venue ticket allocations.
Support the implementation of dynamic pricing, flexible pricing, group sales, and premium ticketing strategies.
Assist with the negotiation and administration of venue ticketing agreements when requested.

Staff Leadership

Assist with the recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, scheduling, and supervision of box office and ticketing staff.
Establish clear expectations and ensure staff members follow venue procedures and customer service standards.
Provide guidance and support to ticketing staff during event operations.
Promote a professional, collaborative, and guest-focused working environment.

Cross-Departmental Support

Provide ticketing data, sales trends, analytics, and other relevant information to the marketing, talent, operations, and finance teams.
Support Marketing with onsite fan engagement, promotional partnerships, VIP experiences, and social media initiatives.
Support Sponsorship with tour and event partnership activations, staffing, logistics, and artist relations.
Collaborate with venue leadership and other departments to ensure clear communication and successful event execution.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous ticketing, box office, venue, or live entertainment industry experience.
Extensive working knowledge of Ticketmaster systems and tools, including TM1, Ticketmaster 360, or comparable platforms.
Demonstrated knowledge of computerized ticketing systems, ticket builds, inventory management, and event onsales.
Experience with financial procedures, recordkeeping, reporting, cash controls, settlement, and reconciliation.
Previous experience supervising, training, or leading employees.
Proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced event environment.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with venue and corporate teams.
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including regular office hours, evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days.
