- Rehab & Performance SpecialistAthletic Trainer | Exercise Science | Exercise Physiology | Strength & Conditioning
Bismarck Sports and Spine | Bismarck, ND
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 10:00 AM–5:00 PM
Ready for Something Different?
Do you love movement, strength, rehab, and helping people get back to doing the things they love?
Are you looking for a career where you can continue developing your skills, work directly with patients, and learn alongside providers who are invested in your growth?
At Bismarck Sports and Spine, we are building a modern, performance-driven clinic that bridges the gap between rehab, recovery, and performance.
We are looking for a Rehab & Performance Specialist with a background in athletic training, exercise science, exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, or a related field.
You do not need to walk in knowing everything.
You do need to be coachable, curious, willing to learn, and excited about becoming really good at what you do.
What Makes This Role Different
This isn't a position where you'll simply supervise exercises or hand patients a generic rehab sheet.
You'll work directly alongside our chiropractors to help patients progress from pain and injury back to strength, confidence, and performance.
We will invest in your development through:
- Hands-on mentorship
- Continuing education
- Professional development
- Training in our rehab and movement systems
- Advanced assessment technology
- Training in soft tissue and recovery techniques
- Collaborative treatment planning
- Opportunities to help build and improve our rehab systems
We don't expect you to know everything on day one. We do expect you to want to learn.
What You'll Do
- Lead individualized rehab and exercise sessions under provider direction
- Coach strength, mobility, stability, and movement exercises
- Reinforce and progress individualized treatment plans
- Learn and perform approved hands-on muscle and soft tissue techniques
- Assist with 3D movement assessments
- Utilize VALD strength testing and objective data to guide rehab progression
- Help patients transition from rehab back into strength, sport, and performance
- Educate patients on movement, exercise, recovery, and injury prevention
- Assist with ARP Neurotherapy and other clinic recovery technologies
- Help create and manage digital rehab programs
- Maintain accurate patient documentation using AI-assisted software
- Participate in community events, athlete screenings, and clinic initiatives
- Contribute ideas to improve our clinical systems and patient experience
- Be an active part of a high-performing, team-driven culture
You will become part of the clinical engine of the practice, not simply someone counting reps.
Who We're Looking For
We are open to candidates with education or experience in:
- Athletic Training
- Exercise Science
- Exercise Physiology
- Kinesiology
- Strength & Conditioning
- Human Performance
- Sports Performance
- Related movement or rehabilitation fields
Certifications such as ATC, CSCS, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, or similar credentials are a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
CPR certification is required or must be obtained after hire.
Clinical Skills
You should have a solid foundation in exercise and human movement and be comfortable learning more.
Ideally, you:
- Understand basic biomechanics and movement principles
- Can confidently coach and cue exercise
- Understand strength training fundamentals
- Have experience with or a strong interest in rehabilitation exercise
- Are comfortable working one-on-one with patients
- Are interested in learning hands-on soft tissue techniques
- Want to learn how objective testing can guide rehab and performance
- Are comfortable learning new technology and clinical systems
The Person Matters Just as Much as the Resume
We're looking for someone who is:
- Highly coachable
- Curious and eager to learn
- A great teammate
- Comfortable receiving feedback
- Willing to ask questions
- Positive and professional
- Detail-oriented
- Reliable and organized
- Confident communicating with patients
- Excited to take ownership as their skills grow
We want someone who enjoys learning new things rather than someone who believes they already know everything.
This Role Is Especially Good For Someone Who...
Is early in their career and wants to develop quickly.
Loves strength and performance but also wants to understand the rehab side.
Loves rehab but wants to help people progress beyond simply becoming "pain free."
Wants mentorship and feedback.
Enjoys working collaboratively instead of operating on an island.
Wants to learn hands-on skills in addition to exercise-based care.
And wants an opportunity to grow with a clinic rather than simply fill a position.
Work-Life Balance
We believe you can build a great career without giving up your entire life to do it.
