Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Bodyman- Painter’s Helper- Shop Help to join our dynamic auto body repair team. This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to assist skilled technicians in restoring vehicles to their original condition, ensuring quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, work efficiently, and contribute to a fast-paced environment where teamwork and attention to detail are essential. This paid position provides valuable hands-on experience in auto body repair, painting, and vehicle maintenance.

Duties

Assist body technicians with surface preparation, masking, sanding, and minor repairs to vehicle exteriors
Support auto painters with mixing paints, handling spray equipment, including airless paint sprayers and conventional spray guns
Prepare vehicles for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking surfaces to ensure smooth finishes
Handle basic shop tasks such as organizing tools, cleaning work areas, and maintaining equipment including grinders and power tools
Perform light mechanical duties such as replacing auto glass or assisting with vehicle reassembly after repairs
Aid in buffing, polishing, and detailing vehicles to achieve high-quality finishes
Follow safety protocols including proper use of respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment

Qualifications

Previous dealership or auto body shop experience is highly preferred but not required; eagerness to learn is essential
Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in auto body work
Experience with surface preparation, masking techniques, and automotive refinishing processes
Knowledge of auto painting techniques such as conventional spraying and airless paint spraying
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
Optional but beneficial skills include welding, auto restoration experience, auto estimating knowledge, mechanic experience, and familiarity with auto detailing
