Full Job Description

Grand Trunk Pub is looking for an experienced, organized, and hospitality-driven Event & Catering Manager to help grow and execute private events, group dining, and special events at one of Downtown Detroit’s most established hospitality venues.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment, knows how to create memorable guest experiences, and can manage the details behind successful events from inquiry to execution.

What You'll Do

Coordinate and manage private events, group reservations, catering, and special events
Communicate with guests to plan event details, menus, timelines, and service expectations
Work closely with FOH management, bar staff, and kitchen teams to ensure smooth event execution
Create event proposals, confirmations, and follow-up communication
Maintain accurate event calendars, guest records, and booking details
Conduct walkthroughs and answer guest inquiries about event spaces and capabilities
Help drive repeat business through strong guest relationships and follow-up communication
Assist with event marketing ideas, promotions, and community partnerships
Support on-site event operations and guest service during events when needed

What We're Looking For

3+ years of experience in hospitality, events, catering, or restaurant management
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
Experience working with restaurant operations and food & beverage service
Strong guest service mindset with attention to detail
Comfortable working nights, weekends, and event-based schedules
Experience with POS systems, reservation platforms, and Microsoft Office preferred
