Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a 10-week contract assignment.

The selected candidate will perform a variety of chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological laboratory tests and procedures while following established laboratory policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

The position requires the ability to provide laboratory services to patients across all age groups, including newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.

Duties

Perform chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological laboratory testing.
Follow established laboratory procedures and quality standards.
Provide accurate and timely laboratory results.
Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
Maintain appropriate documentation and follow regulatory requirements.
Apply mathematical calculations and sound judgment when performing laboratory procedures.
Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.
Follow proper safety procedures and body mechanics.
Perform duties requiring the ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Requirements

Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related biological science.
ASCP certification as an MLT, MT, or MLS required.
Phlebotomy experience is required.
Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience.
Basic computer skills.
Strong communication, reading, and comprehension skills.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to follow one- or two-step instructions.
BLS/BCLS required.
Meditech experience is preferred.

Pay: $2,000.00 - $2,300.00 per week

Experience:

Phlebotomy: 1 year (Required)
Laboratory: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

AHA BLS (Required)
ASCP certification as an MLT, MT, or MLS (Required)

Shift availability:

Day Shift (Required)
Night Shift (Preferred)
