Position Summary
Gym Skills is looking for energetic, positive, and engaging coaches to help athletes build confidence, develop new skills, and discover a love for gymnastics. As a Recreational Gymnastics & Tumbling Coach, you'll teach beginner and recreational gymnastics, tumbling, and ninja classes while creating a fun, safe, and encouraging environment where every child can grow.
Whether an athlete is learning their first forward roll or mastering more advanced recreational skills, you'll play an important role in helping them build confidence, perseverance, and a lifelong love of movement.
Schedule, Availability & Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Monday–Thursday evenings (approximately 3:30 PM–8:30 PM)
- Saturday mornings (approximately 8:30 AM–2:00 PM)
- Minimum availability of 3 shifts per week
- Must be available for occasional weekends to support birthday parties and special events
- Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple programs as needed
Compensation
- Paid Training: Once you've successfully completed training and are confidently leading classes independently, you'll transition to a coaching rate of $13.00–$15.00/hour, based on your experience, performance, and readiness.
- Coaches have ongoing opportunities for pay increases as they develop their coaching skills, take on additional responsibilities, and continue growing within the organization.
About Our Recreational Program
Our recreational program serves athletes ages 6 and older in gymnastics, tumbling, and ninja. Classes focus on developing confidence, coordination, strength, flexibility, body awareness, and fundamental movement skills in a fun and encouraging environment.
Using structured lesson plans, progressive skill development, stations, drills, games, and positive coaching, we help every athlete experience success while learning at their own pace.

- Ninja Champs – Obstacle Course & Ninja Skills
Responsibilities
- Coach recreational gymnastics, tumbling, and/or ninja classes
- Create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment
- Teach skills using Gym Skills lesson plans and progressions
- Encourage confidence, perseverance, and a growth mindset
- Build positive relationships with athletes and families
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe coaching environment
- Work collaboratively with teammates and leadership to create an exceptional experience for every family
