Full Job Description

The Field Sales Underwriter (Life Insurance) is responsible for generating new business, evaluating applicant risk, and providing life insurance policies in a field-based environment. This role combines consultative sales with underwriting expertise to deliver tailored coverage solutions while ensuring sound risk selection.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop new life insurance business through referrals, networking, and leads
Meet with clients face-to-face to assess financial needs, health history, and coverage goals
Recommend appropriate life insurance products (term, whole, universal life, etc.)
Evaluate risk by reviewing medical information, lifestyle factors, and financial profiles
Collect applications, medical questionnaires, and required documentation
Maintain and service client relationships, including policy reviews and renewals
Meet or exceed sales production and profitability targets

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
Active Life Insurance License (or willingness to obtain)
Experience in life insurance sales, underwriting, or financial services is preferred
Ability to interpret medical and financial information

Skills:

Consultative sales and closing
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Time management and territory planning
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to explain complex products in simple terms

Work Environment:

Field-based role with frequent travel to client homes
Flexible schedule, including evenings/weekends as needed
Combination of independent work and coordination with internal teams

Compensation:

Commissions/bonuses

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
