Full Job Description

Fresh Mark is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated FSQA Microbiology Technologist to support food safety and environmental monitoring programs. This role is responsible for environmental and microbiological sampling, sanitation verification, investigations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive corrective and preventive actions.

Location: Salem, Ohio (100% on-site)

Sponsorship: Not available for this position

Key Responsibilities

Conduct environmental and microbiological sampling according to the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP).
Collect, label, document, and manage environmental swabs and samples.
Perform routine testing including pre-operational, contact surface, air, water, and compressed air sampling.
Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams on root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Maintain environmental monitoring documentation and cleaning schedules.
Monitor microbiological inventory and testing supplies.
Support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
Participate in food safety, sanitation, microbiology, and capital project meetings.

Qualifications

Degree, coursework, or experience in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field preferred.
Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Flexible schedule with occasional early mornings, shift work, and weekends as needed.
Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
