Senior Sales Manager

Location: Boca Raton, Florida
Job Type: Full-time, In-person & Field-Based
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Base Salary: $90,000
Annual Performance Bonus Opportunity: Up to approximately $70,000
Standard Total Annual Cash Compensation Opportunity: Approximately $160,000

Lead an Established South Florida Sales Team—and Help Build the Next One

JL Closets is seeking an accomplished Senior Sales Manager to recruit, coach, develop, and lead a high-performing team of Sales Designers throughout Southeast Florida.

This is more than a position managing an existing sales department. During the first 12 months, the Senior Sales Manager will strengthen the Southeast Florida team, improve close rates, develop top performers, refine sales processes, and establish scalable systems for training, coaching, and accountability.

Following this initial growth phase, the Senior Sales Manager will play a key role in JL Closets' expansion into Southwest Florida, including recruiting, developing, and leading a new sales team.

The successful candidate will have meaningful influence over hiring, training, sales strategy, product positioning, pricing, performance standards, and market expansion. This opportunity is ideal for a proven sales leader who enjoys developing people, improving systems, and building teams that consistently achieve ambitious goals.

ResponsibilitiesTeam Building & Development

Recruit, interview, and hire high-performing Sales Designers.
Lead the onboarding, training, and development of new designers.
Conduct individual coaching sessions, field observations, ride-alongs, and performance reviews.
Establish clear goals and development plans for each member of the sales team.
Identify emerging leaders and create development opportunities for top performers.
Address performance concerns promptly and constructively.
Build a strong sales culture centered on coaching, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Sales Performance

Own team sales performance, including revenue, close rates, average order value, lead follow-up, and other key performance indicators.
Establish individual and team goals and consistently monitor progress.
Analyze sales data to identify trends, performance gaps, and growth opportunities.
Support designers during complex or high-value client appointments when leadership involvement can help secure the sale.
Improve pipeline management, forecasting, CRM usage, and sales reporting.
Recognize strong performance and hold team members accountable to established standards.

Sales Strategy & Process Improvement

Evaluate and improve the company's sales training program.
Create repeatable recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and performance-management processes.
Partner with company leadership to evaluate product offerings, pricing, promotions, and sales positioning.
Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and Installation to improve the client experience from the initial appointment through project completion.
Help ensure sales growth remains aligned with production and installation capacity.
Develop the sales-team structure and market plan needed to support JL Closets' expansion into Southwest Florida.

What Success Looks Like During the First Year

A stable, accountable, and high-performing team of Sales Designers

Reliable sales forecasting and CRM reporting
A documented plan for building and launching the Southwest Florida sales team

Required Qualifications

At least 7 years of progressive sales experience, including a minimum of 3 years leading, coaching, and developing a sales team.
Experience managing and holding sales professionals accountable for measurable results.
Demonstrated success recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing multiple salespeople.
Strong knowledge of consultative, high-ticket, in-home sales.
Proven ability to improve close rates, revenue, sales consistency, or other measurable performance indicators.
Ability to analyze sales data and translate findings into practical coaching and business decisions.
Strong proficiency with CRM systems, sales dashboards, and modern business technology.
Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to balance high performance expectations with constructive coaching and team development.
Willingness to travel throughout Southeast Florida and, as the company expands, Southwest Florida.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

At least 2 years of sales-management experience within the custom-closet, home-organization, custom-cabinetry, kitchen-and-bath, or closely related industry.
Experience managing approximately 10 or more Sales Designers or in-home sales professionals.
Direct experience recruiting and developing at least 5 Sales Designers.
Experience leading a sales team across multiple territories or helping launch a new market.
Familiarity with closet-design software, pricing systems, or custom-manufacturing sales processes.

Candidates with proven leadership experience at an established custom-closet or home-organization company are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $90,000
Annual performance bonus opportunity: Up to approximately $70,000
Standard total annual cash compensation opportunity: Approximately $160,000
Bonus eligibility and payouts will be based on defined sales-team performance measures under the company's written bonus plan.
A higher base salary may be considered for an exceptional candidate with directly relevant sales-management experience in the custom-closet industry.
Paid Time Off
Medical and dental benefits after 90 days
401(k) with company matching of up to 3%, subject to plan terms and a one-year vesting period
Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule
