Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Welder/Fitter to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding and fitting tasks across various projects, ensuring all work adheres to the details provided. Your expertise will contribute to the successful assembly of structural fabrications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a great team fabricating structural and miscellaneous steel assemblies used to support the buildings all around our community. Normal working hours 7:00AM-3:30PM, Monday-Friday. Overtime is a regular occurrence as we grow our business. Overtime hours are typically 10hr days M-TH with Fridays and Saturdays as a typical 8 hour workday.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret fabrication detail sheets, fittings sheets, blueprints, and miscellaneous technical drawings to determine welding and fitting requirements.
Perform MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW welding with precision according to AISC D1.1/1.3 and AWS
Fabricate and assemble wide flange, HSS tube steel, pipe, c-channel, angle and plate assemblies
Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, schematics, and rigging equipment safely to cut, shape, assemble, and install mild steel components.
Conduct quality inspections using iPad and measurement tools to ensure weld integrity and proper fit-up.
Adhere to shop safety standards and follow guidelines set forth in company handbook
Assist with maintenance tasks related to structural steel fabrication such as clean-up of shop area, assist with offloading/sorting and work with other welders/fitters in the shop
Provide transportation to and from shop location in Pipe Creek, Texas

Skills

Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, SMAW.
Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately.
Ability to use an iPad and simple computer skills for CNC plasma cutting
Experience with rigging, forklift use, jib gantry crane
Ability to interpret technical drawings effectively while applying basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Knowledge of power tool safety practices including use of power tools such as grinders or cutters; experience with hand tools is essential.
Construction site experience or manufacturing background demonstrating adaptability and problem solving
Understanding of safety protocol adherence including OSHA regulations
Ability to lift minimum 50lbs.
AWS certification(preferred, not required)
1G certification or greater (preferred, not required)
