Full Job Description

SummaryTheElementary School Learning Support Assistant position is an integral part of Riverstone’s daily operations as it provides classroom support. This person will work under the direction of the Elementary School Director, teachers, and Learning Support.

ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Elementary School Director, the Staff will:

Arrive at Riverstone by 8:00am and work until 4:00pm during the school year.
Option to work during Spring Break and summer.
Assist with classroom learning engagements; including whole group, small groups, and one-to-one.
Engage with children in a positive manner, including implementing appropriate guidance techniques in line with classroom expectations and Riverstone’s guiding principles.
Assist with preparing and implementing daily activities.
Work collaboratively and as part of a team, contributing positively to the team.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe environment.
Supervise children to ensure that all safety protocols are adhered to and that children are following established rules and behaving in a respectful and appropriate manner.
Supervise students both inside the classroom, school, and outdoors; including duties, fieldtrips, and Outdoor Education activities.
Report any safety, or behavioral related issues, to the Elementary School Director.
Engage with staff, parents, and community members in a positive manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

Bachelor's Degree, ideally in an education related field.
Ability to obtain Idaho Child Care license.
Demonstrated experience and ability to work well with and communicate with young children and parents.
Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team.
Certification in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid (training provided)
Able to lift 25-30 lbs.
Able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety.

Physical Requirements

Clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions, communicate effectively in person, and to hear sounds within normal range of conversation;5
Visual acuity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to prepare and comprehend written work, prepare and review documents, organize documents and materials and observe classroom or student activities;
Manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to operate a classroom and office equipment, including a personal computer and/or tablet;
Personal mobility, agility, strength, reflexes and balance with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to relate to and supervise the activities of small children, to lift or move objects that weigh 50
pounds, to stand for long periods of time, and to work in a classroom environment;

Employment, Benefits, and Salary

This position pay starts at $16.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position, working 8:00AM – 4:00PM, Monday through Friday.
The position will start Thursday 6 August 2026.
This position is eligible for full benefits.
