Event Operations ManagerWaters Edge Event Center

Department: Events Reports To: General Manager Location: Eagle, ID Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We're looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Event Operations Manager to lead the planning, logistics, and on-site execution of events at Waters Edge Event Center, including weddings, social celebrations, and corporate functions. You'll be the go-to person who helps turn a client's vision into a beautifully run event — coordinating vendors, budgets, timelines, and on-site staff from the very first booking through the final send-off. We're a close-knit, supportive team who genuinely love what we do, and we're looking for someone who thrives under pressure, stays cool and organized when things get busy, and brings a warm, welcoming energy to every client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from initial inquiry through final walkthrough, building strong relationships throughout the planning process
Respond to client inquiries, conduct venue tours, and guide prospective clients through booking and contracting
Plan, coordinate, and execute end-to-end logistics for each event, from initial site tour and booking through final walkthrough
Conduct client planning meetings and site visits to understand event vision, timeline, and specific requirements
Develop and manage event timelines, floor plans, and production schedules in partnership with clients and vendors
Source, negotiate with, and manage relationships with preferred and outside vendors, including caterers, florists, rental companies, and DJs/entertainment
Create detailed run-of-show documents, floor plans, and staffing schedules for each event
Act as the on-site client contact on the day of the event, overseeing setup, service, and breakdown and troubleshooting issues in real time to ensure a smooth experience
Manage room layouts and setup/breakdown logistics, ensuring a smooth turnover between events
Ensure venue spaces, furniture, and equipment are maintained, well-presented, and ready for each event
Conduct post-event evaluations, gather client feedback, and prepare recaps with recommendations for improvement
Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire code, and alcohol service regulations at all events
Manage the full events calendar, meeting deadlines and staying within budget for each booking

Qualifications

Required:

3–5+ years of experience in event operations, venue management, wedding/social event planning, or a related hospitality role
Proven track record managing end-to-end logistics for weddings, social events, and/or corporate functions
Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and events at different stages of planning on the calendar
Warm, professional client-facing communication skills, including comfort managing high-emotion situations (e.g., wedding day stress) with poise
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including regular evenings and weekends, as most events occur outside standard business hours
Ability to stand, walk, and lift event equipment (tables, chairs, décor) for extended periods during setup and breakdown
Proficiency with event management/booking software (e.g., Tripleseat, Perfect Venue, HoneyBook) and general project management tools

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Event Management, or related field
Experience managing venue operations or a wedding/event venue specifically
Familiarity with room layout planning and venue rental contracts
Food & beverage or alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS) a plus
