SLEEP TECH OPPORTUNITIES
You will enjoy four days off a week. This position could be Sun, Mon, and Tue. Another position can be Wed, Thur and Fri. The position is primarily in Boise and shifts can be available in Nampa instead of Boise.
POLOYSOM TECH I
Performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under the direct supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
REQUIREMENTS FOR POLYSOM TECH I:
- Must be enrolled in an Accredited Sleep technologist S.T.A.R program through the AASM, or RRT or RPSGT.
- Registry in Polysomnography, Respiratory Care or EEG required within 3 years of hire.
- At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
- Certified or registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT or RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) preferred.
POLYSOM TECH II
Performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general oversight of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist and/or the Medical Director or designee.
POLYSOM TECH II REQUIREMENTS:
- A license to practice respiratory care from the Idaho Board of Medicine is required or a permit to perform polysomnography related to respiratory care.
- Must be enrolled, or have completed, the ASTEP program and register as an RPSGT within 1 year from hire by the Board for Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) Required to be certified or registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT or RPSGT) by the Board for Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
- Minimum two years of direct clinical experience preferred. At hire, Basic Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross are required.
- Training in electroneurodiagnostics, pulmonary technology, or respiratory care with emphasis on cardiorespiratory, neurological and sleep/wake physiology preferred.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Follows procedural protocols (e.g., Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration) to ensure collection of appropriate data.
- Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
- Follows “lights out” procedures to establish and document baseline value (e.g., body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rates).
- Performs polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free. Identifies and reports signal abnormalities and make adjustments, if necessary.
- Documents routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
- Implements appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.)
- Follows “lights on” procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process (e.g., repeats the physiological and instrument calibrations and instruct the patient on completing questionnaires).
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Performs difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions.
- Scores sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines.
- Scores clinical events (e.g., respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals) according to center specific protocols.
- Input orders and task information such as account activation, notify and task completion in the powerchart system.
