Full Job Description

Boone Family Dentistry is excited to announce a Full Time employment opportunity for an Dental Office Administrator to join our practice. We are looking for an intelligent and caring front desk specialist with the flexibility to turn on your heels when priorities change, the thoughtfulness to do what’s in the best interest of our patients and the team, and the desire to always do your best work. We do what’s right for the patient, not just what’s easy - and that’s what makes our jobs gratifying. A background in dental/medical is recommended but not a requirement.

Job duties would include but not limited to:

Being the face of the practice. You will be the first person that greets patients when they walk into the office and/or talk to when answering the phone. Always communicating respectfully and kindly and greeting them when they walk in!
Scheduling appointments. Including scheduling, cancelling, rescheduling appointments for patients and helping make specialty office appointments. Our office uses Dentrix practice management software.
Collecting patient payments and entering insurance payments. This includes billing patients and being knowledgeable with dental insurance explanation of benefits (EOBs).
Insurance: Filing insurance claims, tracking their progress, and communicating with dental insurance companies. We take this part of our job very seriously and you will be required to follow up on claims and have to call insurance companies from time to time.
Verifying patient insurance eligibility. Checking online insurance tools to verify eligibility and view patient benefits.
Treatment planning. Explaining the investment associated with diagnosed treatment and going over what insurance is estimated to pay.
Administrative tasks. Answering the phone, taking messages, filing records, and performing basic accounting.
Running basic reports to track overall office key performance indicators (KPIs). Including but not limited to: accounts receivable, production, collections, provider statistics, outstanding insurance claims, and month end reports. Some will be reported back to Dr McKenny biweekly and monthly.
