For over 40 years Travis Industries has been designing and building industry leading award winning hearth heating appliances. We are the largest privately held wood, gas, and pellet stove, insert, and fireplace company in America encompassing multiple brands; Fireplace Xtrodinair, DaVinci Custom Fireplaces, Lopi, and Tempest Torch. Our products are all built in the "House of Fire", our Mukilteo Washington facility encompassing over 11 acres of manufacturing under one roof.

Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Manual Mill Machinist and become a vital contributor to precision metalworking operations. In this role, you will operate manual milling machines to produce high-quality components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise will help ensure that each part meets strict quality standards while maintaining efficient production workflows. We’re looking for motivated individuals who thrive in a hands-on environment and are eager to develop their skills in machining and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor manual milling machines, ensuring accurate machining of metal parts based on detailed blueprints and technical drawings
Interpret mechanical blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical specifications to produce precise components
Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions and quality control standards
Adjust machine settings and tooling as needed to achieve desired tolerances and surface finishes
Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using measurement tools, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications
Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols; perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools
Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of experience operating manual milling machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment required
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining instructions
Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality inspection
Commitment to safety procedures and adherence to quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screen, be eligible to work in the US, be able to be on feet all day and lift up to 50lbs

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
