Optometric Technician: Job Description

Position:

Full-time - Must be able to work in both our Bellevue an Woodinville locations.

Summary of Position:

Bellevue Vision Clinic is the oldest eye clinic on the eastside of the greater Seattle area and has been providing exceptional eye care for over 75 years. We take pride in serving our community and continuing the tradition of building strong relationships and have fifth generation patients.

Our passion is to help our patients maximize their visual performance and eye health using the most up to date information and advanced technology. We take the time to get to know vision requirements and lifestyle needs during our thorough “No Rush” patient visits. We pride ourselves in providing personalized life-long care so our patients can look and feel their best now and in the years to come.

Our Optometric Technicians are responsible for assisting our Doctors in providing exceptional care to our patient’s. They will ensure that all procedures are closely followed, from proper charting, using various pretesting machines, and making sure each patients is ready for their appointment. This position requires high attention to detail, organizational skills, and a friendly demeanor. This position will work closely with Medical Receptionists, Doctors, and will complete various tasks as needed.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Pre-testing patients for exam
Greeting patients in a courteous and friendly manner
Accurately prepare and update new and established patient charts
Call in prescriptions, and prescription refills to pharmacies
Accurately triage and schedule emergency medical appointments and referrals
Contact lens, product ordering, and training

Position Requirements:

Must be able to work at both our Bellevue and Woodinville locations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational skills

Good interpersonal relationships
Critical thinking and problem solving skills

Personal Qualities:

Must be dependable
Must be able to consistantly get to work on time
Able to work well under pressure
Able to communicate in a professional and kind manner with staff members, Doctors, and patients
Can be trusted with confidential information
Must be able to pass a background check

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who takes pride in their work, is mature, responsible, and works well as part of a team.

Compensation: Starting from $22 (depending on experience)

Bellevue Vision Clinic offers a complete benefit package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance. We also offer paid training, paid sick and vacation accrual, and retirement account with employer match options. Compensation is competitive, and benefits begin after the 90 day probationary period.
