Position: Environmental & Geotechnical Driller
Vista is looking for motivated experienced Drilling Rig Operators to join our geotechnical and environmental drilling team. Candidate must have experience with direct-push (Geoprobe or similar) drill rigs and/or hollow stem augers. Work includes soil, soil gas, groundwater samples, monitor well installations, pushing Direct Imaging tools, and performing in-situ remediation injections using DPT tooling, packers, or injection wells. Career advancement opportunities include learning how to operate Direct Image® equipment from Geoprobe, operating our remediation injection equipment, and eventually managing your own sites from the initial bid to the final invoice as a Project Manager.

Compensation:
- Full Time Hourly position
- Hourly rate $30-$40 per hour based on experience (Must have 1+ years DPT & HSA experience)
- 50 hours per week anticipated on average, 1.5x hourly rate for overtime

Primary job duty responsibilities include:
- Operate Environmental and Geotechnical Drilling Rigs
- Drive commercial vehicles and transport equipment to job sites.
- Soil, groundwater, & soil gas sampling using direct-push and auger tooling
- Logs soils and document site activities
- Support Remediation Injections for ground water remediation
- Monitor well installation
- Maintain, trouble shoot, & repair equipment and vehicles
- Use portable lab instruments for monitoring and safety
- Work collaboratively as a team with clients on site
- Complete daily job summary and field note forms
- Write Data Summary and Analysis Reports for some projects
- Generate data maps for projects
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience with DPT or HSA Drilling in Environmental or Geotechnical Industries (3+ years)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Pass background check
- Pass DOT & OSHA HAZWOPER medical physical
- Pass Respirator Fit Test
- Ability to travel both in state and out of state; potentially for a duration of 3-weeks at a time
- A Current Driver’s License and acceptable driving record is required.
- Ability to work & communicate with team members & clients.
Preferred Qualifications (a plus!):
- Associate or Bachelor degree in earth related sciences a plus.
- Commercial Driver’s License (Class A CDL)
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
- MSHA Certification
- Experience using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience with Mapping and Modeling software (Surfer, Voxler, etc.)
- Mechanical, fabrication, welding skills
- Military experience a plus
