Full Job Description

Title: Prevention Services Director

Reports to: Associate Director

Status: Full-time / Exempt

Salary: $70,000

Bilingual Stipend: $50/per pay period

Founded in 1985, Boulder County AIDS Project (BCAP) provides support, advocacy, and education to individuals in our community living with or affected by HIV, and serves as a trusted outreach and information resource dedicated to preventing the further transmission of HIV. Position Summary

The Prevention Services Director oversees BCAP’s HIV and HCV prevention programs and community outreach efforts. The Prevention Services Director is responsible for program development, implementation, and quality assurance/improvement of these services. The Prevention Services Director manages the Prevention Services Department to ensure responsive, comprehensive, and person-centered services. This is a full-time, exempt position (40+ hours per week) based at BCAP’s Boulder office. Evening and weekend work is required to meet essential deadlines, attend important meetings, and staff community events. This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties. The Executive Director or Associate Director may assign additional responsibilities as organizational needs evolve. Nothing in this job description alters the at-will nature of employment with BCAP.

Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees implementation, evaluation, and reporting of HIV and HCV prevention programs
Oversees department policies, procedures, and succession plan
Trains, supervises, develops work plans with, and evaluates department staff, work-study, and volunteers
Establishes department annual work plan and calendar of activities and events
Coordinates HIV and HCV testing coverage at BCAP and offsite locations, provides on-going supervision of test counselors, and ensures quality assurance of testing services
Oversees comprehensive pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) services
Ensures daily coverage for syringe access and weekly street outreach services
Provides HIV and HCV educational presentations to classrooms and other community-based groups
Coordinates events, outreach activities, public awareness campaigns, and social media messaging
Helps oversee and develop a work plan for the Atlas Prevention Program
Manages department inventory of supplies
Reviews all department data and its entries into databases
Ensures process and outcomes goals are met for prevention programs
Provides department data and narrative for agency communications and grant proposals

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree & three years’ experience in public health, human/social services, psychology, or related field
Two years’ experience in program and project management
Two years’ experience supervising staff, or equivalent leadership experience
Experience working with Microsoft Office programs, databases, and website navigation
Ability to work at a computer for 2-3 hours at a time, manage interruptions, and lift 30 pounds
Access to reliable transportation
