MDS Coordinator

Highland Manor of Mesquite – Mesquite, Nevada

Highland Manor of Mesquite is looking for an experienced and motivated MDS Coordinator to join our leadership team.

As our MDS Coordinator, you'll play a critical role in ensuring accurate reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and quality resident outcomes. You'll work alongside an engaged interdisciplinary team that values communication, accountability, and doing what's right for our residents.

What You'll Do

Coordinate and oversee the completion of all MDS assessments in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of Medicare, Medicaid, OBRA, and PPS assessments.
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and resident care conferences.
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, dietary, social services, and medical providers to ensure accurate documentation.
Monitor reimbursement opportunities while maintaining compliance.
Review clinical documentation to support coding accuracy.
Assist with quality measures, regulatory readiness, and survey preparation.
Stay current with CMS regulations and reimbursement changes.
Help drive excellent clinical outcomes through accurate assessment and documentation.

Qualifications

Current RN license preferred (LPN candidates with strong MDS experience may be considered).
RAC-CT certification preferred but not required.
Previous MDS experience in a skilled nursing facility required.
Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, PDPM, and OBRA regulations.
Excellent organization, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) is a plus.
