Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, tracking, organizing, and issuing inventory in a food manufacturing environment. This position works closely with the Prep Room to issue materials to production batches, verify ingredient accuracy, safely operate lift equipment, and maintain accurate inventory records using a computer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with the Prep Room to issue ingredients and materials to production batches.
Verify ingredient accuracy before materials are issued to a batch, including checking product identification, item numbers, quantities, and other required information.
Accurately issue, stage, and deliver materials to the appropriate production batches.
Receive, inspect, count, and organize incoming food products and materials.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure products are stored in the correct locations.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse lift equipment safely and efficiently.
Use a computer and inventory management system to enter, update, and verify inventory information.
Perform data entry, including quantities, product locations, receipts, transfers, batch issues, and inventory adjustments.
Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
Pick, move, stage, and replenish products as needed.
Follow food safety, warehouse, production, and company procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Communicate inventory or ingredient discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor or department.
Perform other warehouse and inventory duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous warehouse, inventory, food manufacturing, or food distribution experience preferred.
Ability to safely operate forklift/lift equipment; certification or willingness to become certified as required.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management software.
Ability to accurately enter and retrieve information using a computer.
Strong attention to detail, particularly when verifying ingredients and batch materials.
Good organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products as required by the position.
Ability to work in a warehouse/food production environment and follow safety and food-safety procedures.
