Assists Member Services Supervisor by preparing and revising daily schedules, providing training support for probationary employees, and monitoring student employee performance and training. Trains adult and youth volunteers; handles circulation policy and procedure questions when the supervisor is absent; assists in the timekeeping and in the lending and recovery of library materials; oversees cash handling/fine collection duties; registers borrowers.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of college-level coursework (must specify 60-semester/90-quarter hours) AND one (1) year of experience working in a library,
OR
- Graduation from high school/equivalent; minimum of one (1) year of college-level coursework (must specify 30-semester/45-quarter hours) AND two (2) years of experience working in a library,
OR
- Graduation from high school/equivalent; minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a library.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include (must specify on application):
- Experience in training personnel,
- Experience providing customer service in a library, bookstore, or retail environment,
- Experience handling cash, and
- Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
