Job Summary
Southern Microwave is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented RF Assembly & Test Technician to join our growing manufacturing team in Riviera Beach, Florida.
This position combines precision electronics assembly with functional testing, inspection, and quality verification of high-frequency microwave components including circulators, isolators, and other RF assemblies.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, pays close attention to detail, and has the curiosity to learn specialized manufacturing and testing techniques. Previous experience with RF or microwave products is not required—we provide comprehensive, hands-on training.
Responsibilities
- Assemble precision RF and microwave components using assembly drawings and work instructions.
- Perform fine soldering and mechanical assembly of small electronic and electromechanical components.
- Operate microscopes, precision hand tools, and assembly fixtures.
- Perform functional testing of assembled products using specialized electronic test equipment.
- Learn and perform specialized manufacturing and calibration processes through company-provided training.
- Record test data and verify products meet engineering specifications.
- Inspect assemblies for workmanship and quality before final release.
- Troubleshoot minor assembly or test issues and work with senior technicians to resolve problems.
- Handle delicate magnets, ferrite components, machined housings, and electronic assemblies with care.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Follow ESD, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, vocational training, military electronics experience, or electronics coursework is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new technical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with very small precision components.
- Ability to follow written work instructions and assembly drawings.
- Basic computer skills for recording production and test information.
- Reliable attendance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing precision assembly and testing.

Language Skills
Southern Microwave has a diverse, team-oriented workforce.
English proficiency is required to safely perform the essential functions of the position, including understanding training materials, safety procedures, quality standards, technical work instructions, and communicating effectively with supervisors and cross-functional teams.
Spanish language skills are a plus, as many members of our production team are bilingual or primarily Spanish-speaking. Bilingual communication skills are valued but are not a condition of employment.
