Full Job Description

GROUP FACILITATOR

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to fill the position of PSR counselor. The ideal

candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of mental health

diagnoses such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia.

RMC Inc. is looking for a bachelor level Group Facilitator to conduct Psychosocial Rehabilitation groups

(PSR Groups) to mental health clients-adults

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Group facilitators will conduct Psycho-Social Rehabilitation (PSR) groups to individuals in a

community Behavioral Health Program.

 Assess the social and emotional needs of clients

 Document thoroughly and timely in the clients' charts

 Attend all scheduled clinical meetings

 Meet with the assigned therapist for review the client’s progress.

 Daily preparation of the group room and material for clients

 As a PSR Counselor, you will be responsible for facilitating group sessions for up to 12 members,

where you will assess and address the individual need of each client in a therapeutic manner.

 Facilitate group sessions for up to 12 clients, creating a safe and supportive environment for

sharing feelings and experiences.

 Assess the needs of each client and tailor interventions accordingly, utilizing a variety of

therapeutic techniques.

 Demonstrate proficiency in mental health diagnoses, including depression, bipolar disorder, and

schizophrenia, to effectively support clients.

 De-escalate situations when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of all group

members.

 Provide engaging and supportive interactions with clients, fostering a sense of community and

empowerment within the group.

 Strong understanding of group dynamics and therapeutic interventions.

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 A graduate of a college or university with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Social Work,

Psychology, a related human service field, Certified Behavioral Health Technician, Certified

Recovery Support Specialist, or Certified Recovery Peer Specialist.

 Must have one year of accumulated mental health experience with the population served

 Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

 Must have one year of experience with documenting mental health notes

 Must complete criminal background

 Must have some experience in training techniques and educational practices

 Must not have a history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children or vulnerable adults

 Must possess the ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience in utilizing Federal Medicaid

guidelines

 Must possess the ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience in program development

and coordination of therapeutic services

 Proficiency in the use of the standard Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Packages

 Perform related work as required or as assigned by the manager or CCFL Director

 Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

 Analytical--Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses

intuition and experience to complement data; Designs workflows and procedures

 Problem Solving--Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes

information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem-solving

situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

 Interpersonal Skills--Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality; Listens

to others without interrupting; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others' ideas

and tries new things.

 Oral Communication--Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens

and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills;

Participates in meetings.
