Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Administrator to join our team and support our financial operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and streamline accounting processes, ensure compliance with financial standards, and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting systems, financial software, and bookkeeping, with a passion for accuracy and efficiency. As a vital member of our finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining precise financial records, preparing reports, and supporting budgeting activities to help us achieve our organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining detailed records.
Utilize accounting software such as Centerpoint, RVS, and other financial systems to record transactions, generate reports, and perform account reconciliations.
Prepare detailed financial reports by analyzing data from spreadsheets and accounting software to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly.
Assist with budgeting activities by monitoring expenses against budgets, analyzing variances, and providing insights for future planning.
Deputy Village Clerk duties in the absence of the Village Clerk.
Requirements
Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in Government/Municipality funding and accounting.
Strong proficiency in accounting software and other financial management tools.
Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation.
Experience with financial report writing, account analysis, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes.
Skilled in using spreadsheets for data analysis, budgeting support, and report generation; proficiency in 10-key typing is preferred.
Ability to perform technical accounting tasks such as balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting with precision.
Excellent organizational skills combined with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
Knowledge of Grant Writing; experience is recommended
