Full Job Description

Position: Heavy Equipment Operator (CDL Required)

Summary: A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate should have significant experience operating various heavy equipment, including excavators, skid steers, and backhoes. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.

Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, skid steers, and backhoes, in a safe and efficient manner to complete assigned tasks and projects.

Ensure equipment is in proper working condition by performing pre-operation checks and reporting any malfunctions or damages to the supervisor.

Avoid hazards and maintain site safety by executing precise movements and adjustments of the equipment.

Collaborate with construction and landscaping teams facilitate tasks, such as digging trenches, grading surfaces, and moving materials.

Follow project plans, blueprints, and instructions to meet project specifications and timelines effectively.

Use equipment to load, unload and transport materials to designated locations as required.

Conduct equipment maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Comply with all safety guidelines, regulations, and company policies.

Continuously develop skills and knowledge related to heavy equipment operation to stay updated on industry best practices.

Assist in construction and landscaping activities as needed.

Requirements:

Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.

Proven experience operating heavy equipment, with a focus on excavators, skid steers, and backhoes.

Familiarity with various construction and landscaping tasks, techniques, and materials.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and technical manuals.

Strong attention to detail and precision in equipment operation.

Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.

Ability to work efficiently and effectively within a team environment.

Physical stamina to endure extended periods of sitting and operating heavy machinery.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected challenges on the job.

Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and relay information effectively.

Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional weekends based on project demands.

Landscaping experience is a plus.
