This is a very hands on position with focus on scratch cooking, assisting the kitchen manager with all aspects of the kitchen.
This position works 7am - 3:30pm, inclusive of an unpaid 30 minute break.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining a high standard of nutrition for all students.

Work as a team member with staff at assigned school.

Operate necessary equipment in the safest and most efficient way to maximum capacity.

Be responsible for the correct use of and care of all equipment.

Assist in the preparation and cooking of all foods.

Follow established sanitation and HACCP (Hazardous Analytic Critical Control Point) procedures.

Maintain all federal and state production records and related paperwork as assigned by the Food Services Director.

Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Food Service Manager and/or Food Service Director.
Qualifications/Skills
-
Training in sanitation and food handling safety.

Ability to interact well with students, staff, and community.

Strong characteristics of cooperation, flexibility, initiative, and industriousness.
Requirements

Background check, including fingerprinting

Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval

Kitchen experience preferred

Knowledge of food service operations
Pay and Benefits
-
Pay is $20.44 - $25.72 based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract
