Full Job Description

Job Title: Heavy Civil Excavating & Sitework Foreman

Dalling Construction Inc. is a family-owned and operated heavy civil excavating and sitework company with a strong commitment to safety and quality. With roots dating back to 1933, we proudly serve municipal, commercial, and industrial clients throughout the state of Connecticut.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Foreman to join our team. A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Foreman is required. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with solid field experience and the ability to manage crews in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities:

Supervise, lead, and motivate field crews on heavy civil and sitework projects
Oversee earthwork, site grading, and fine grading operations
Manage trenching operations and utility installations
Install water pipe, sewer pipe, storm drainage pipe, stormwater detention systems, catch basins, and manholes
Read and interpret construction drawing and site plans
Perform and verify layout, set grades, and establish elevations
Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications
Maintain compliance with OSHA safety guidelines
Keep projects organized and on schedule
Communicate clearly and effectively with project managers, inspectors, and crew members
Prepare and submit detailed daily reports to your supervisor
Maintain and use a company truck with tools provided for fieldwork

Requirements:

5+ years of proven experience as a Heavy Civil Excavating or Sitework Foreman
Strong leadership traits with the ability to direct crews, make decision confidently, and maintain accountability
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practices
Skilled in blueprint reading and construction layout
Ability to set grades and elevations accurately
Experience with utilities and drainage systems
GPS knowledge and experience with machine control systems is a plus
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to perform well in demand, fast-paced environments
Plumbing license is a plus

Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
