Full Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused Auto Body Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary bridge between our shop, vehicle owners, and insurance adjusters. You will inspect damaged vehicles, write precise collision repair estimates, manage supplement processes, and keep customers informed every step of the way. Salary starts at $70,000 but is based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough teardown and visual assessments of structural, mechanical, and cosmetic damage.
Estimate Creation: Write comprehensive, OEM-compliant repair estimates using estimating software (CCC ONE, Mitchell)
Insurance Liaison: Communicate and negotiate directly with insurance adjusters to finalize claims, process supplements, and secure approvals quickly.
Customer Service: Walk customers through the repair process, explain technical repair needs in plain language, handle check-ins/check-outs, and provide regular updates.
Workflow Coordination: Work closely with technicians, painters, and the parts department to ensure accurate parts ordering, minimize cycle time, and meet target delivery dates.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Minimum [2+] years of experience as a Collision / Auto Body Estimator in a shop or dealership environment.
Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CCC ONE, Mitchell estimating platforms.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of current collision repair processes, frame/structural alignment, refinishing, and OEM guidelines.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service and negotiation.
License: Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Certifications: ICAR certification or state appraiser license is a strong plus.
